Ο Γιάγκος Αγγελής είναι διευθυντής ενός εργοστασίου που τα έχει όλα στη ζωή του. Υγεία, χρήματα, φίλους. Είναι αρραβωνιασμένος, πέντε χρόνια με την Ελένη που δεν λέει να παντρευτεί, ενώ διατηρεί σχέση και με την γραμματέα του Λιλή που θέλει να την παντρέψει μ' ένα άβουλο υπάλληλό του που είναι ερωτευμένος μαζί της για να την έχει του χεριού του. Όταν η χήρα του ιδιοκτήτη του εργοστασίου, κυρία Παπαγεωργίου, του λέει πως θέλει να ξαναπαντρευτεί, την φλερτάρει αδιαφορώντας για την αρραβωνιαστικιά του. Μη μπορώντας ν' αντέξουν οι γύρω του την συμπεριφορά του, τον εγκαταλείπουν όλοι και μένει μόνος του με τον εαυτό του.
