Η Κάτια (Μυρτώ Αλικάκη) επιστρέφει στην Κωνσταντινούπολη, από την οποία είχε εκδιωχθεί παιδί μαζί με τη μητέρα της το 1965 με τις βίαιες απελάσεις των Ελλήνων. Σκοπός της Κάτιας είναι η διεκδίκηση του εξοχικού της μητέρας της, Δόμνας. Μέσα σ’ αυτό θα ανακαλύψει κρυμμένα γράμματα της μητέρας της αφιερωμένα σ’ έναν παράνομο έρωτα για έναν Τούρκο αξιωματικό. Ταυτόχρονα ο γάμος της δύει, ενώ η συνάντηση με τον Τούρκο δικηγόρο που αναλαμβάνει την υπόθεση της κληρονομιάς, τη φέρνουν αντιμέτωπη με τις επιθυμίες της.
