Who can you turn to when protectors become predators? Dana Delany, Keith Carradine, and Brian Dennehy star in this moving, suspenseful drama about one woman's courageous battle to bring a rogue cop to justice. Sally Rawlings (Delany), a corporate executive with a bright future, watches her life spin out of control after a policeman, Officer Wexler (Carradine), cold-bloodedly kills her ex-husband before her very eyes. Wexler is acquitted of any wrongdoing, and Sally finds herself standing alone against a shocking police department cover-up. Thwarted at every turn by a system steeped in deceit and corruption, Sally takes the law into her own hands. Hacking into computer files, staking out Wexler and questioning witnesses, Sally will risk everything – including her own life – to expose the truth.

🤖 AI Film Analyst Insight

"John Sacret Young’s 1999 effort, *Sirens*, functions primarily as a competent, though visually unremarkable, character-driven police drama. Dana Delany delivers a reliably intense performance, navigating the moral complexities inherent in law enforcement, particularly as a female officer in a male-dominated sphere. The film benefits from the simmering tension between the leads, including a young Justin Theroux, suggesting the potential for a deeper psychological study. However, the overall aesthetic feels decidedly rooted in the late-90s television movie mold, limiting its cinematic scope and ambition. The narrative frequently defaults to familiar genre beats rather than innovating, resulting in a production that is earnest and moderately engaging but ultimately lacks the stylistic precision or narrative originality required for lasting impact. It satisfies its immediate brief without challenging the medium."
